Privacy

Last updated 5 October 2026. SimpCAD X is made by Ben Rigney in the United Kingdom.

The program

SimpCAD X works fully offline. Your designs, projects and settings are saved only on your own computer. There is no account and no sign-in.

Optional user count

Only if you switch on “Count me as a user” (Settings), the program sends, at most once a day: a random install number made on your computer, the version number and “windows”. No names, email, files, designs or location. Turning it off deletes the random number from your computer. This lets us count how many people use SimpCAD X; the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Optional share links

If you choose “Share a link”, the design you chose (as STL and SimpCAD X files) and the name you typed are uploaded and kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically. Anyone with the link can download it. To limit abuse, uploads per hour are counted using a one-way scrambled code of your install number and network address that is deleted after a day. Reported designs may be removed.
